In this two session class we will be making a simple drypoint plate that can be inked up and printed intaglio through the etching press. Please bring along an image of a pet (or any animal) from which you would like to use to create a drypoint.
Drypoint is an easy technique to get to grips with and is a great method if you would like to take your drawings into print. It’s easier than etching as it requires less specialist equipment and no chemicals or acids. We will be using Drypoint Plastic as it is easy to draw into and a drawing can be traced through it! We will be scratching an image into the plastic. These lines create a burr that holds ink.
