Bring your ideas to this one day workshop on sgraffito surface and drawing on clay. The instructor will provide one 8” x 8” plate coated with black underglaze for each student. Using drawings brought from home, instructor sample drawings or instructor resources, students will learn the sgraffito technique for drawing on clay and create a finished image. Finished plates will be fired and coated with clear glaze for student pickup in two weeks.

Debbie Kupinsky Bio

Debbie Kupinsky received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA from Louisiana State University. Her creative work often explores the way we mediate experience through objects and the intersection between the human and natural world. She has been a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts, The Appalachian Center for Crafts in Smithville, TN and the Arts in Industry program at Kohler in Sheboygan, WI. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Long Beach Museum of Art, the Kohler Company and The Archie Bray Foundation among others. She shows her work nationally, internationally and regionally and maintains a studio in Appleton, WI.
